Would you like to recruit passionate new trainees to build your defence industry business? Through the Defence Industry Pathways Program, trainees earn while they learn in this 12-month program. They gain work experience in defence industry businesses, while working towards a Certificate III in Defence Industry Pathways. 

These motivated young professionals develop skills in manufacturing, engineering, computing, logistics and procurement—all while contributing to the future of your business.

How it works

MEGT directly employs your trainee and places them in your business.  

Our tailored recruitment service means we identify motivated candidates who have a genuine passion for the defence industry.  

Our experienced coaches provide intensive support throughout their entire qualification journey, while our advisors keep everyone aligned on goals and expectations, and take care of the paperwork and regulatory requirements. 

We also provide professional and reliable advice on every aspect of traineeships, based on decades of experience. So you can focus on nurturing your promising new talent, while growing your business.

Studies show trainees who receive coaching from MEGT are 30% more likely to complete their studies and build a successful new career. You’re also more likely to secure them as a quality employee once they complete their qualification.

Your trainee’s learning journey

Your trainee alternates between practical workplace experience and focused study blocks: 

Work placements: 12-week rotations with defence industry host employers, where they gain valuable on-the-job experience. 

Study blocks: Intensive 4-week learning periods at South Metro TAFE, covering one subject at a time for maximum retention. 

This integrated approach ensures trainees return to your workplace with skills and knowledge they can use immediately.

If your trainees are a great fit, you are welcome to offer them direct employment at the end of their qualification at no additional cost.
