Painting Futures III – Townsville (QLD)

MEGT has partnered with Major Training and the ABIS Housing Community Co-Operative Society to offer traineeships to First Nations participants in Townsville. 

Painting Futures III - Townsville is a continuation of the successful Painting Futures programs that have been conducted throughout Queensland.

About Painting Futures III

MEGT has helped increase employment opportunities for over 250 participants via several Painting Futures programs all over Queensland. 

Painting Futures III is an 18-week, full-time traineeship where participants work towards obtaining an in-demand and nationally-recognised qualification.

On-the-job learning includes repainting community housing across the Currajong, Rasmussen, Heatley, Thuringowa and Hyde Park areas.

 Participants get to:

  • Earn money while learning new skills from experienced tradies
  • Undertake a Certificate I in Construction
  • Receive full support from First Nations mentors
  • Make a meaningful contribution to local communities
  • Build work-ready skills to enhance their resume

MEGT provides tailored support throughout and assists with finding employment or apprenticeship opportunities at the completion of the program.
