Research shows that effective mentoring significantly increases the chances of apprentices and trainees completing their training! Our qualified mentors can help keep you motivated and on track. We work one-on-one to offer confidential support that will help you in a range of areas, including:
Work and training support
- Navigating workplace hurdles. From finding their way in a new job to improving communication with you, we’re here to help.
- Time management. We share essential time management tips so your apprentice or trainee can balance work and study successfully.
- Career guidance. We provide insights to help you plan your future.
- Literacy and numeracy assistance. MEGT works with you to ensure you are well prepared for off-the-job training requirements and assessments.
- Access financial support. Be confident as you complete your financial incentive claims.
Personal support
- Mental health wellbeing. Our mentors can help you navigate personal challenges and ensure you can stay engaged with your training.
- Financial and housing support. We can connect you with resources to help create a more stable environment outside of work.
- Cultural and legal assistance. We provide access to programs which support a diversity of needs.

Who is eligible for mentoring?
Apprentices and trainees who are eligible for free mentoring services include, but are not limited to:
- Women in male-dominated trades
- First Nations Australian Apprentices
- Australian Apprentices with disability
- Australian Apprentices located in remote Australia
- If you are employed by a Group Training Organisation there may be other support available.

Navigating work and training challenges
We can help you navigate workplace issues, issues completing training and assessments, understanding your job role, administration, career guidance, language literacy and numeracy assistance and more.
Conquering personal challenges
Confidential guidance and support if you are facing mental health challenges, need financial or housing support, want access to cultural programs, are experiencing drug and alcohol challenges, legal matters and more.

Depending on where you live, there are a number of organisations who can provide support throughout your apprenticeship. You may also be eligible to receive further financial support as an Australian Apprentice.
