What NDIS employment services does MEGT provide?

Finding and keeping a job

This service provides assessment or advice to help you successfully engage in employment. It may be of benefit if you have (for example) experienced a traumatic injury and require significant support to develop a new work pathway.

School Leavers Employment Supports (SLES)

This service focuses on capacity supports to help students successfully transition from school to employment. It helps school leavers set and reach their career goals and covers both hard and soft skills necessary for employment. It generally available during the last few months of school and may continue after the student leaves.

Customised employment

This is a person-centred approach to employment supports and services. Our goal is to tailor a job to fit the skills, interests, strengths and support needs of a person living with disability, while also meeting the needs of the business.

What can you expect when you meet with MEGT to plan your NDIS pathway?

These are the four key stages we’ll take together, and what support we can provide at each stage.

Stage one: Take control

We begin with a friendly meeting to understand if we can help you reach your education and work goals to help decide if MEGT is the right fit for you.

  • Introduction to our services. A friendly introduction to MEGT’s customised employment approach.

  • Understand your pathway. We’ll listen to your needs and share our staff profiles, helping you decide if we’re a good fit.

  • Welcome pack and resources. If you choose MEGT, we’ll give you a welcome pack and the NDIS Let’s Talk About Work booklet.

  • Service agreement. Together, we’ll create a service agreement outlining the funding block for services that are in line with your NDIS funding, and services required to achieve your goals.

Stage two: Make your plan

Collaborate with us so we can better understand your employment and education needs and help you create a plan to reach your goals.

  • Needs and goals interview. We’ll interview you to better understand your needs and create a customised plan.

  • Assessment and discovery. We’ll explore your strengths and skills through a range of interactions with you and your support network.

  • Vocational action plan. Together, we’ll focus on your goals and work towards developing a customised vocational action plan.
Stage three: Build capacity

This is the point at which we’ll help you put your plan into action and build your capacity towards work.

  • Career exploration. We encourage you to explore different career options, providing opportunities for job shadowing and informational interviews to identify strengths, interests and potential accommodations.

  • Work-based learning. Get real-world experience through internships, apprenticeships, or on-the-job training to develop practical skills.

  • Networking and community connections. We’ll connect you with local employers, disability advocates and community resources to support your career goals.

  • Life skills development. We offer training in communication, teamwork, problem-solving, time management, travel, personal finances and other life skills you’ll need for work.

  • Accommodations and assistive technology. We’ll make sure you get any tools or adjustments you need to remove any barriers so you can do your job well.

Outcome review and reassess. We’ll regularly check in to see how you’re progressing. If needed, we’ll adjust your plan to make sure you stay on track.

Stage four: Launch your career!

Get all the support and guidance you need to start and succeed in long-term employment.

  • On-the-job education and support. MEGT offers tailored training, job coaching and accommodations to meet your needs.

  • Sustained employment. We’ll help you find and keep a long-term job that matches your goals. We also work with your employer to make sure you can adjust to your new role and then offer continuing support.

  • Inclusion and workplace integration. We’ll help create an inclusive work environment, supporting you in building positive relationships with colleagues and navigating any challenges.

  • Mentoring and support networks. We’ll connect you with mentors and support networks for guidance throughout your employment journey.

  • Ongoing evaluation and review. We’ll regularly review your progress and adjust your support and plan if and when required.

  • Community connections. MEGT connects you with other organisations, like Disability Employment Service (DES) providers, to help you achieve open employment.
