Our partnership with Fremantle Foundry brings over a century of maritime experience to the program. As Australia's most experienced maritime specialist, they host MEGT trainees at their world-class waterfront facility to develop the next generation of defence industry professionals.

Serving the navy for over 120 years

Fremantle Foundry has been keeping ships seaworthy since 1902. A family-owned business since the very beginning, it evolved from a local foundry to a high-tech business, employing experts in an array of maritime maintenance specialisations–from propulsion to subsystems, rigging, fabrication and NATA testing. 

And although they’ve been around for over a century, Fremantle Foundry isn’t leaning on the past. They’re helping shape Australia’s future by training the next generation of talent through the Defence Industry Pathways Program.

MEGT is proud to support the Australian government’s Defence Industry Pathways Program in Western Australia. We regularly place trainees at Freemantle Foundry, giving them valuable hands-on experience and helping them to kickstart long-term careers in the defence industry.
