Be aware of, and commit to, fulfilling work and training responsibilities.

Australian Apprentice Rights
If you're starting out as an apprentice, you deserve to be treated just like any other employee. It can be tough to speak up if things aren’t going right, but addressing issues early on is key to sorting them out and making sure you get the experience you signed up for.
Your Training Contract is a serious deal. It’s legally binding, which means your employer has specific responsibilities to:
- Make sure you can attend and finish your formal training
- Sign off on your training records to show what you've accomplished
- Not change or cancel your Training Contract without your say-so
If something’s not right, your first point of contact should be your manager or trainer. If you still have concerns about your Training Contract, reach out to MEGT for help and advice.
MEGT Apprentice Connect Provider responsibilities
As facilitators of the Training Contract, MEGT’s obligations are explained in the Apprentice Connect Australia Provider Code of Conduct.
As your Apprentice Connect Provider, we have a guarantee of service that:
- The advice we provide is accurate and reliable
- We have a detailed and up-to-date knowledge of federal and state government requirements
- We’re prompt in our response to customer enquiries and needs
- We actively support and promote the opportunities provided through the Australian Apprenticeship Support Services (AASS) program
We’re serious about keeping your data safe and private. This means we follow strict rules under the National Code of Good Practice and our guarantee of service, along with the Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles.
Here’s what we might know about you: your name, addresses, phone numbers, email, and details about any claims or transactions you’ve had with us.
We only share your info when necessary, like with:
- Your authorised representative or lawyer
- Government agencies if the law says so (like for reporting government incentive payments)
- Agencies that help with research, marketing, or data
- We make sure your information is accurate and up-to-date, but that means you need to let us know if anything changes on your end.
MEGT Recruitment and Management Services obligations
MEGT is a registered Group Training Organisation (GTO). If you commence an Australian Apprenticeship as advertised by MEGT’s Recruitment and Management Services (RMS) division, MEGT will be your legal employer and you’ll be placed with a host employer to provide training, supervision and day-to-day work.
All registered GTOs must adhere to the National Standards for Group Training Organisations (and Evidence Guide).
You’ll need to sign both a Training Contract and employment agreement. The terms and conditions of your employment will be based on the relevant award used by your host employer.
